Well it’s never too late. First step is to acknowledge the problem (check) , so second step is to take action.

Yes because taking advantage of the Lebanese people in 2006 and closing the borders was a better action.

I don’t understand why it is Lebanon’s responsibility to keep helping and supporting refugees from different countries when no one cares enough to do the same

Dear Mr. Charbel,
Refrain from making any public statements, every word you say is a contradiction of all the time you passed at the Minister of Interior. You came to power because all parties didn’t want a strong person to rule this delicate and decisive ministry. In another word, you were duped.
Kindly, take your pension, find a house in the mountains and stay away from people, the sooner the better.
Sincerely,

Well, there’s a misunderstanding of the law itself, or ignoring the most important part of it which is implement it and protect people’s privacy in article 1 in law 140. They are allowed following the procedures mentioned below for specific phone numbers and not for a big area of Lebanon, like Nabatieh, or Mount Lebanon. They are breaking the law. Technically it’s the PM Mikati’s signature that matters, he is the one breaking the law.

Thx Najib for posting about this topic

Comment on Lebanon in the top 5 countries of the World for Maths and Science education by Georges

Tue, 2013-05-21 07:03

Read my comment on that same article. Muhammad Faour would basically be out of work if Lebanon showed improvement in education. Don’t mind him or his personal agenda, which he so shamelessly advances at the expense of Lebanon’s reputation and to the satisfaction of his American patrons.

Comment on The story of one Ukrainian prostitute in Lebanon by Fadi

Tue, 2013-05-21 05:33

While all Lebanese know this prostitution happens in Lebanon , lebanese society seems to be more concerned with violating the human rights of its citizens for doing nothing more than simply being gay, ( ghost club incident) all in the name of ?… Hypocrisy

Comment on Telecom Ministry announces measures to prevent illegally imported devices by Mafia

Mon, 2013-05-20 17:06

The excuse of “illegally” imported phones is a cover !

- Mafia war : There are 2 mobile mafias in Lebanon illegally importing phones. Part of this whole mess is a move from one mafia to eliminate the other as the first can have their phones “listed” legally or illegally (bribes)!

- No more privacy : It’s also a way to increase spying on the population and “enriching” their telecom data with all the devices you ever used. Although you can get a phone line under a fake name, it will be tied to your “Registered device”.

This whole initiative needs to blow up in their faces !

Unless lebanon produces mobile phones, there should be 0% taxes on imported phones and electronics !

Putting such restrictions does not solve the problem of actually monitoring illegal imports at the Airport and Beirut Port ! Solve the problem of importing anything illegally in Lebanon, not just phones. Import of weapons, drugs, electonics, medicine, clothes, counterfeit items, dvds …

This whole thing is a poor excuse and cover up for something much much worse !

Comment on Lebanon’s oldest church found? by Richard

Mon, 2013-05-20 16:15

This is great, I hope that the concerned authorities will preserve this treasure. Lebanon is known to the world by its values, or whatever left, since the majority of Lebanese worked hard to consume all values…

Comment on Tirachrach (دق الماني) by charlie

Mon, 2013-05-20 15:47

This is actually a dirty song. In his first lines he is talking about a girl loosely wearing a red bra n he is in love with her.

Anyone who understands formal arabic can see the dirty connotations behind the lyrics. Excellent play on words by Rami.

Comment on Updated: General Security granted access to all data by Razor

Mon, 2013-05-20 15:45

Since February 2013, the Prime Minister can accept giving the Data to any security agency at his own discretion http://www.aljoumhouria.com/news/index/20864.

The criteria set out by the law which requires judges’ prior approval and execution by Minister of Communication was waived as per request from President Sleiman. Nowadays, even ISF is receiving such Data and not only General Security (Annahar’s info is partially true but fully unprofessional).

The battle for privacy rights was lost upon Hassan’s assassination.
