Some of you might have noticed the little widget at the left with news alerts. I am still testing the concept; but after a couple of days it seems promising. So here are all the details.

I am using the Twitter platform to post updates. Twitter is the latest innovation in the micro blogging world. It was first designed and is mainly used as a social networking tool. But it features are really useful for small news flashes. The main benefit is that Twitter will send you the latest alerts for free to any cell phone, instant messenger or email account. This way you could all be notified as soon a news alert is posted.

Receiving alerts on your mobile, IM or email

All you have to do to receive alerts for free is:

1. Sign up for a free account at Twitter
2. Visit the Beiruter twitter pager at http://twitter.com/beiruter
3. Click the follow Beiruter link on the right. And you're done!

You can leave your comments or suggestions on this page or through the contact us link on top.

On a side note, we are currently experimenting with a mobile version of the site. It should directly appear if access the site from any cell phone or other mobile device. Keep in mind that it is still buggy.
