Ik zit op dit moment in Dubai, UAE. En heb zojuist van een betrouwbare bron in de Jemenitische hoofdstad Sana'a het volgende gehoord:

* De twee Jemenitische mannen die eerder deze week op Schiphol werden gearresteerd en vrijgelaten, zijn bij aankomst in Sana'a niet vrij om naar hun familie te gaan. Ze zullen namelijk direct na aankomst door de Jemenitische autoriteiten worden afgevoerd voor verhoor.

اعتبر نائب رئيس “حركة التجدد الديموقراطي” النائب السابق مصباح الاحدب ان “المشكلة الاساسية في البلد هي استعمال السلاح للضغط الداخلي ولتغيير القرار السياسي داخليا، محذرا من “عدم طرح المواضيع في شفافية ما يساعد في استمرار تقهقر الوضع وتقدم قوى الامر الواقع”.
واعلن “عن التوصل راهنا الى تسويات لا تأخذ في الاعتبار حماية انتاجية الدولة ما يؤدي الى تعطيل عمل الحكومة” مشددا على ان “السلاح ليس سلاح الشيعة بل سلاح حزب الله”.

If there were doubts that the rivalry between Syria and Hizbullah has reached new levels of complication, then consider the recent statements by the Parliament speaker, Nabih Berri, and the Druze leader, Walid Jumblatt, on the Special Tribunal for Lebanon.

Berri and Jumblatt seemed to be reading from the same songbook when they declared recently (Jumblatt in his weekly Al-Anbaa editorial) that one had to distinguish between the work of the tribunal and any indictment it might issue. This was subtle, but not so subtle that the public failed to miss that both men were effectively rejecting the view expressed by Hizbullah’s secretary general, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, that the institution itself was an “Israeli project.”

I saw this pack of “Fesikh” (Dry fish preserved in salt) at TSC Plus Jnah. The second I held it in my hand I felt a shitty smell invading my nose even though the fish were still enclosed in nylon!

To my knowledge, Fesikh is very popular in Egypt especially during Sham El-Nessim, I wonder how the hell can Egyptians eat such thing!

Does anyone remember the carnival-like atmosphere post-Doha where political rivals took to the streets of Beirut hand in hand to remove flags and posters that belonged to the various warring factions? انطباعي الأولّي – انطلاقا من قراءة رد السيد مالك أبي نادر على “مقالتي” أنه بمثابة استذكار للوقائع لاينفيها بل يؤكدها – أنه فعل متسرع يؤكد فيه صاحبه بالوقائع ما حاول أن ينكره بالصياغات اللغوية وبالتلطي وراء أصول الاتهام وفقه المحاكمات. وقد زادت دهشتي من هشاشة ما قرأت، بعدما تأكد لي أن ما سمي ردا قد خضع لموافقة جهة مسؤولة في التيار العوني بدليل نشر هذا النص على موقع التيار الالكتروني الرسمي تحت عنوان “رد التيار الوطني الحر على حارث سليمان”.

عقدت اللجنة التنفيذية لحركة التجدد الديموقراطي جلستها الأسبوعية بحضور نائبي الرئيس كميل زيادة ومصباح الاحدب والاعضاء، وأصدرت البيان الآتي:
أولاً- إن ما شهدته شوارع بيروت من فلتان أمني واعتداء على أرواح اللبنانيين وممتلكاتهم كان مشهداً مؤلماً أصاب في الصميم سيادة الدولة وهيبتها وسلامة عمل مؤسساتها. والأكثر ايلاما أن معالجة هذا الخلل الأمني الخطير قد تُركت، تحت ضغط التهويل والتخويف، للاسلوب العشائري في التصالح ومن ثم تعويض المتضررين الابرياء بعد الامعان في ترويعهم وتدمير ممتلكاتهم وانتهاك حرماتهم، وصولا الى احياء مفهوم الأمن بالتراضي واستحداث اللجان المشتركة لتنظيم المظاهر المليشياوية، تماما كما كان يحصل خلال الأزمات الغابرة والايام السوداء الكالحة التي مرت على لبنان.

قد يستلزم الامر “هيئة حوار وطني” اخرى للبحث في استراتيجيات السلاح المنتشر في الداخل، في بيروت وغير بيروت، ولتحديد معايير التمييز بين سلاح وسلاح. لكن الصدمة في برج ابي حيدر كانت ان الصدام حصل بين ذاك السلاح وذاته. وربما يقال انه، هو ايضا، رديف للجيش في حفاظه على الامن والاستقرار، ولذلك لا بد من بقائه، لكن لا بأس في “ضبطه”، مما يعني الاستمرار في منظومة “الامن بالتراضي”.
الارجح ان اللبنانيين مقبلون على التعرف الى معادلة جديدة – قديمة لم يكن معترفا بها ولا مشرعنة في البيانات الحكومية. فبعد معادلة “الجيش والشعب والمقاومة” ضد اسرائيل، يبدو ان قضية السلاح في بيروت، نزعا او ضبطا، تتطلب معادلة “الجيش وسوريا وحزب الله” من اجل حماية السلاح بالسلاح نفسه.
